Working with Project Roles
Ivanti Neurons for PPM allows you to create Project Roles and assign them to Resources. See Working with Roles. Project and Portfolio Managers assign various Project Roles to Resources in order to apply Project Skills and manage Resource Capacity. Only Project Managers and Portfolio Managers create and apply Project Roles. See Adding a PPM Role .
Linking Project Roles
After creating a Project Role, link it to Resources and Project Skills. Project and Portfolio Managers can then search across Project Roles for all Resources with the necessary Project Skills.
Linking Project Roles to a Resource
After creating a Project Role, link it to individual Resources.
1.Double-click a Role from the Project Roles workspace list view.
2.Click Link on the Employees tab to search for an employee.
3.Select Custom Search, and enter your search parameters.
4.Click Search.
5.Click the name of the employee then click Select to link the Project Role to the employee.
Linking a Project Role to Project Skills
Often a Project Skill applies to everyone assigned a certain Project Role. For example, you might apply the skill "SQL Server" to all Resources in the Database Administrator Role. When you assign a Project Role to a Resource, the Project Skills linked to that Project Role automatically apply to the Resource.
When you remove a Project Role from a Resource, the linked Project Skills remain linked to the Resource.
1.Double click on a Project Role from the Project Roles workspace list view.
2.Click Link on the Project Skills tab.
3.Click the Project Skill to link to the Project Role, then click Select.
